3 Step Tattoo Removal Procedure

The desire to remove tattoos is becoming more and more widespread among the population, as the number of tattoos stung per day is also increasing rapidly. Especially often people want to get rid of their youth sins or elapsed love relationships on the skin. Laser treatment can be used to blast the color pigments under the skin, and the fragmented color is removed naturally by the body. In our practice, we use a special three-step procedure that optimizes color removal. Nevertheless, you should expect about 10 treatments in two years, as aggressive procedures can trigger scars.

Tattoos have become a trend in recent decades, which enjoys increasing popularity. 50 years ago, body decoration was often labeled as bad taste or even frowned upon in certain cultural circles. Today, people record important life events on their bodies, tattoo the faces or names of their loved ones under their skin, or simply ask the tattoo artist if he has a good motif in store. The rapid rise in tattoo acceptance and popularity can be seen in impressive numbers. In Italy, about 50% of people have at least one tattoo and lead the world in this respect. In Switzerland and Germany it is about 20%, which still gives an impressive number of people.

The growing number of tattoos also has a dark side. At so-called tattoo parties, tattoos are often stung on people who are under the influence of strong alcohol, people are forced to tattoos or one can be in the intoxication of love also quickly times the name of an affair tattooed, which one finally does not even marry. It is often ignored that tattoos are intended for eternity (or at least for a long time) and a quick removal of a tattoo is simply not possible.

Before the development of laser technology, acid or burn therapies were often used to remove tattoos, which usually leave large scars, not even allowing the ink to disappear completely. Surgical removal will also leave thick scars. Laser treatment, on the other hand, can make a tattoo disappear without scar tissue forming, achieving a clean result. The laser beams can specifically blast the ink in the dermis, with the ink particles being removed by the body's macrophages. Thus, after several sessions, most of the color can be "blasted" away. We work with different lasers and heads in our practice to be able to treat almost all colors. Some colors like yellow can not be removed with laser treatment until today.

Our practice differs from conventional treatment methods by the three-step procedure. In the first step, part of the color is blasted by the laser, and after a short break, the color returns to the skin surface and can then be blasted again in a second step.

In the third step, we use the CO2 laser. This creates tiny channels in the skin through which even more color pigments can be removed and hyperpigmentation and scars can be prevented. As aftercare, we recommend a wound-healing and moisturizing cream for the first few days. Continue to use a scar gel until the next treatment, which should take place after 8 weeks at the earliest.
