How does laser epilation work and what results can be expected?

Laser epilation works according to the so-called principle of selective photothermolysis, i.e. only dark hairs (i.e. never white, red or blond hairs) are selectively heated by the laser light while protecting the surrounding skin, so that the stem cells are destroyed and the hairs therefore do not grow back or grow back less.

In order to achieve an optimal result, it is important that the patient refrains from sunbathing before laser epilation. Of course, the same applies to the solarium.

Our job is to choose the ideal wavelength and adjust the parameters to hair thickness and density so that you get the best possible result. If your skin is freshly tanned or you are taking light-sensitizing medication, we are limited in our options for your safety.

The practices of Dr. Rümmelein AG have powerful Alexandrite and Nd:YAG lasers with which we can treat all skin types all year round.

Depending on the localization, the areas are treated with different frequency: On the face you can treat every month, on the arms every two months, on the back and legs we recommend intervals of three months, in order to achieve the best possible result for you with as few sessions as possible.

Please let us advise you individually. Before starting the treatment we make a photo documentation, after three sessions we check the result. After 3-4 treatments we expect about 50% reduction in hair growth. Please always appear well shaved for the treatments, so that we use your treatment time for laser treatment and not for shaving.
