Unwanted hair

"You don't have to accept annoying hair that you don't want! With a Laser epilation these hairs can be permanently reduced. Unfortunately, this only applies to dark hair. White, blonde and red hair cannot be removed by laser. Then the old methods such as waxing, plucking etc. have to be used."

Causes

Causes of unwanted hair

The topic of "unwanted hair" is often kept quiet. Hair in places where it is not wanted is usually perceived as aesthetically disturbing, can be psychologically stressful and should disappear. Especially in women, hairless, smooth skin is considered aesthetically desirable. Men can also find too much hair annoying and want treatment.

Unwanted hair can appear practically anywhere on the body except on the palms of the hands and the soles of the feet. In addition, there are medical reasons for laser hair removal, such as ingrown hairs, acne inversa or in the context of transsexuality. Also, in case of a tendency to pilonidal sinus, the rehabilitation of the affected area (upper buttock fold) is a highly recommended measure.

Hypertrichosis is the most common form of excess hair. It is genetic, but can also be acquired and occurs locally in a few areas or on the entire body. Another phenomenon that leads to male pattern hair in women is hirsutism. This form is usually hormonal; women produce too many male sex hormones, which can lead to increased hairiness and other male characteristics. Both hypertrichosis and hirsutism are easily treatable with laser.

Laser treatment

  • The Laser hair removal (laser epilation) has been established in recent years as a reliable remedy for unwanted hair growth. We have powerful Alexandrite and Nd:YAG lasers with which we can treat all skin types all year round. Sun exposure should be avoided in the days before and after laser epilation. Laser epilation synchronizes the hair growth cycle. The face should be epilated every 4 weeks, the armpits and arms every 8 weeks, and the back, chest, abdomen, intimate area and legs every 12 weeks. In between, the hair can be shaved as often as desired.
