Preparation for a trichoscan

Before performing a trichoscan, proper preparation is crucial to achieve accurate results. To prepare for the hair analysis, the hair should be clean and free of styling products. A clear parting is drawn in the area to be examined to provide an optimal view of hair root status and density. This preparation allows the doctor to make an accurate diagnosis of hair loss and the health of your hair.

What happens during a trichoscan?

During the Trichoscan analysis, which takes around 10 minutes, immersion fluid is applied to the lens of the specialized camera or specially polarized lenses are used. This produces high-resolution, highly magnified images of the hair root and scalp. This examination enables a detailed analysis of hair growth and helps in the diagnosis of Hair loss. The Trichoscan is a non-invasive method that makes it possible to assess the hair root status without painful interventions.

What can I expect after a trichoscan?

After 8-10 days, when the results of the hair analysis are available, an individual treatment protocol is discussed with the doctor. This discussion is crucial in order to develop a customized treatment for hair problems such as hair loss based on the diagnosis. The results of the trichoscan provide a solid basis for determining the next steps and increase the chances of successfully treating hair loss. Because the images are stored digitally, they can also be used for image comparison.
