Fruit acid peeling

"During fruit acid peeling, the top dead skin cell layer is peeled off by a highly concentrated fruit acid, such as glycolic acid. The peeling stimulates the underlying skin cells to regenerate, and the skin tissue appears fresh and intact. In nature, glycolic acid can be found in sugar cane or unripe grapes."

Frequently asked questions

Fruit acid peeling Frequently asked questions

How many sessions do I need?

The number of sessions required depends on various factors, such as the desired result and the condition of the skin. As a rule, we recommend 5-10 treatments to achieve optimal results.

How long should I wait between sessions? How long does it take until I see results?

The interval between two treatments is usually between two and four weeks to give the skin sufficient time to regenerate. The time it takes to see visible results can vary. Some patients notice an improvement after the first session, while others may require several sessions to see results. The intensity of the treatment is increased depending on tolerance. It starts with a 20% glycolic acid solution and is increased to 35%, 50% and 70% depending on tolerance.

Are the results permanent or will I need maintenance treatments in the future?

After a fruit acid peel, you may notice an improvement in skin texture, complexion, pore size and skin structure. However, the results may fade over time, especially if the skin continues to be exposed to harmful environmental factors such as sun exposure. In order to maintain the results of a fruit acid peel, maintenance therapy can therefore be useful.

Do I need a break from work?

After the treatment, the skin may be red, irritated and slightly taut. Flaking of the skin a few days after the fruit acid peel is a natural consequence of the treatment and usually subsides after a few days. It is recommended to avoid direct sunlight. After treatment, sun and UV protection is required for at least a week, preferably longer to avoid pigmentation irregularities. Products containing fruit acids should not be reused for at least three days after treatment.
