Treat cellulite and scars with AWT

Acoustic wave therapy (AWT) is a therapeutic procedure that uses bundled sound waves to trigger both physical and biological effects in the skin, which help to combat Celluliteunfavorable Fat deposits, Stretch marks and Scars and promote firm, healthy skin. The treatment can also be carried out in summer and is suitable for all skin types. Exposure to the sun is not necessary and the treatment is pleasant.

The bundled sound waves - also called shock waves - have been used in medicine for over 30 years to break up kidney stones. The dermatological application, on the other hand, only established itself in the last decade through the emergence of the acoustic wave therapy (AWT). High-energy waves are directed into the skin at a high frequency, stimulating it and triggering a variety of physical and biological processes in different types of cells and tissues. Metabolism is improved, microcirculation is increased and tissue elasticity is enhanced. In addition, even stimulation of stem cells and growth factors has been demonstrated.

In the case of cellulite, the problem lies in the fact that enlarged fur cells push the skin upwards and the inelastic, vertical connective tissue does not yield to the increasing pressure. This creates the typical appearance of cellulite. Decreased lymph flow and reduced blood circulation worsen this unsightly skin appearance. Acoustic wave therapy, through its massage effect, improves blood circulation and lymph flow, temporarily makes the cell walls of the fat cells permeable and loosens the connective tissue. Various effects at the cellular level have also been proven, such as a new formation of fine vessels, fibroblast activation and new formation of collagen. This results in a more even, firmer and elastic skin.

At Dr. Rümmelein AG - House of Skin and Laser Medicine we use the Cellactor SC 1 or the Duolith SD1 Ultra for acoustic wave therapy. Four palm-sized areas can be treated in a 50-minute session, for smaller areas (only upper arms or only inner thighs) 25 minutes are sufficient. If the treatment is for volume reduction, a moderate and calorie-reduced diet should be followed during this time. After the body treatments we would like to ask you to move a little. 2-3 liters of fluid are recommended in order to eliminate released waste products more quickly. Especially in case of cellulite, building up muscles is crucial for the result. The analysis with the InBody device (free of charge as part of the treatment) will tell you where you stand personally. We will be happy to advise you!
