How it works

Sclerotherapy mode of action

Spider veinsSclerotic veins, often referred to as spider veins, are small, superficial veins that appear blue or red and often have the appearance of spider webs or branches. Sclerotherapy for the removal of Spider veins we use the active ingredient Aethoxysklerol. Aethoxysclerol is injected directly into the vessel to be removed using a thin cannula. The active ingredient spreads in the vessel, which becomes clogged and constricted. As a result, blood can no longer flow and the vein develops into a rod of connective tissue and is eventually resorbed. In addition to classic sclerotherapy, we also offer foam sclerotherapy, in which a special foam is injected into the vein to achieve the same results.

Treatment options

Sclerotherapy treatment options

Classic sclerotherapy:

  • Aethoxysclerol is injected directly into the vein.

Foam sclerotherapy:

  • A special foam is used that spreads better in the vein and offers more effective treatment for larger varicose veins.
